In 2024, Pan de Manila proudly celebrated 25 years of bringing freshly baked bread to Filipino homes. Over the years, we’ve watched the world around us evolve with new traditions, emerging alongside innovations that continue to shape the way we live. Yet, amid all these changes, one thing has remained constant, the comforting presence of pandesal on the Filipino table.
The Heart Behind Lakbay Aral
Our goal is simple—to keep the legacy of pandesal alive and thriving in every Filipino home by passing down the values and stories that make this humble bread so special.
Lakbay Aral invites young minds to discover the story behind this beloved bread. We want participants to see how this time-honored bread making is a way to preserve our roots and pass down values that have shaped generations of Filipino families. Through this program, we hope to foster a deeper connection to culture and tradition while creating moments of joy, curiosity, and pride for the youth and their families.
Inside The Lakbay Aral Experience
The workshop begins with engaging storytelling that shares the history of pandesal—from its Spanish roots to its role in Filipino homes today. Kids are then taken behind the scenes to witness each step of the bread-making process, starting with a brief discussion on the key ingredients. Each participant gets a turn to either add an ingredient to the giant mixer or watch as the ingredients mix together. The excitement builds as participants roll and shape their own dough, proudly handing over their creations to be baked and waiting eagerly for the final result. The program concludes with the distribution of attendance certificates and a fun class picture-taking session, followed by a wholesome meal where participants can mingle, bond, and celebrate their shared experience.

Hi. This sounds really interesting. Do you also do this here in Iloilo?
Thanks for your prompt reply.
God bless!
I wish to raise my complaint against the cashier of Pan De Manila – San Lorenzo Branch, Chino Roces, Makati for her malicious and underhanded tactics of cheating me out of my rightful change.
I refer to the incident that took place in the afternoon of November 12, 2025 (Wednesday) – specifically around 2:45 pm. I entered said store to purchase bread (pandesal and insaymada) paying with a whole bill of Php 500.00. The total cost of the items i purchased was only Php 255.02. Simple mathematics dictates that i was supposed to receive Php 244.98.
After receiving my items, the cashier immediately handed me the change in the form of coins. Thinking that these were the exact change in the form of coins, i left the said store only to realize when i got home that your cashier failed to give me Php 200.00 pesos. All i had in my pocket when i counted my change was only Php 44.98 in coins.
I can understand that your probable default reaction to my complaint is one of doubt that is why i am respeftfully asking that the CCTV camera of said branch be reviewed in order to validate the veracity of my claim. I stand firm with my claim that i only received Php 44.98 losing Php 200.00 to said cashier.
I claim that the said cashier acted maliciously and employed underhanded tactics because assuming that i was in a rush to leave the store after getting my change (which i assumed at that time that it was already complete), the cashier still had the chance and the time to run after me and hand me the Php 200.00 that was lacking since i was still standing outside the said store. But instead, she just allowede be to leave despite the fact that she knew beforehand that she only handed me Php 44.98 in coins.
Is this the kind of service Pan De Manila is offering the public. Look not at the amount of money involved as we are talkibg about principles and ethics here. That said, i hereby reiterate my request to have the CCTV of said store reviewed as i am confident that the said footage will validate my claim. We can talk about the ethical implications thereafter.
Hoping for your immediate and appropriate action.
